Almost There

Without disclosing too much details, I am jotting this piece down so that I can remind myself when the tough gets going for me in the near future.

In my life thus far, there has been a lot of 2nd best moments. In competitions, trials, and sports, after trying my best, runner ups seemed to be consistent. I guess these experiences taught me to persevere, work harder, and be committed to the end game – winning.

Honestly speaking, I have always compared myself with others and asked why am I lesser in luck and wealth. Why is he or she so lucky to be born into a wealthy family – so carefree and happy? But now I do know that by working hard in achieving my goals bring me sweeter victories compared to things that come easily.

Though dreaming, hoping, and praying play what seemed to be insignificant roles but I believe they are essential for winning. For the most part, it is usually sheer hard work and focus on each small steps along the way.

The past few months has been quite an eye opener for me. Through a series of events, I discovered a little more about myself. I count my lucky stars for having some amazing people around me always ever ready to lend a helping hand and give valuable advice.

Little by little after the unfolding of each event and people playing their roles in helping me through them, it dawned on me that each event had its significance and was pivotal in making me stronger. Throughout the challenging experiences, I learned many valuable life lessons – from stress management to self empowering. I am now much aware and able to quickly turn around whenever self doubt creeps into my thoughts. I have learned to look at things and question situations from different perspectives which helps a lot in making better decisions. Some refer to the method as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

New opportunities have also presented themselves and I am now hoping that everything will fall into place as they suppose to be.

The profound thing I realized is that, everything that I have been through leading up to this point be it triumphs or trials, has prepared me to face bigger challenges ahead of me. It is now important for me to latch on and stay focus on continued growth as a person. The purpose is finding joy in being of service to others and in turn contribute to the larger ecosystem.

I guess winning is all about finding your “center”, “niche”, and “footing” in life. I rather not use the word comfort because that leads to complacency.

Yes, prayers are important to express your inner desires and give thanks for every good we are grateful for. It plants a seed of thought that you wish to materialize through your actions. Action is what sets in motion and helps us move towards the end game – winning.

It is said that life is not about the destination but the journey. It does not matter if we win sooner or later. What matters most is the fact that we have a clear picture of the end game and persevere in working towards it.

It is perfectly fine that we learn life’s important lessons a little late just as long as we allow and not short change ourselves of each opportunity to learn something new whenever a challenge arises.

Slow and stead will win us the race!
